ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Ervin Santana insists he doesn't draw extra motivation from facing another team's top pitcher.

'I don't care who is pitching for the other team,' Santana said after leading the Los Angeles Angels over Scott Kazmir and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 12-2 Tuesday night. 'He has to do his job, and I have to do mine.'

Santana allowed two hits in seven innings and Vladimir Guerrero drove in two runs with a pair of singles for the Angels, who turned a close game between two of the best young pitchers in the American League into a rout by scoring 10 runs after the fifth inning.

Santana limited the Devil Rays to one hit -- Carl Crawford's first-inning triple -- until Julio Lugo singled with one out in the sixth.

The right-hander's wild pitch enabled Crawford to score in the first, and Lugo was the only other baserunner to get past first against the Angels starter -- advancing to second on a wild pitch in the sixth.

'The wild pitch could have set him off on the bad foot, but he regrouped and just pitched a terrific game,' Scioscia said. 'He used all of his pitches well. ... That's a big game for him.'

Santana struck out seven and walked one before being replaced by Brendan Donnelly, who allowed Tampa Bay's third hit -- Joey Gathright's pinch-hit single with two outs in the eighth. Crawford singled off J.C. Romero and scored on Ty Wigginton's groundout in the ninth.

'I had everything going,' said Santana, who stopped a two-game losing streak. 'I was concentrating a little bit more to keep the ball down because I know here the ball runs a lot.'

Kazmir, who entered the game with a 14-inning scoreless streak at home, has lost two straight decisions after winning five in a row. He's given up 16 runs in 13 2/3 innings over three starts afterlimiting opponents to two or fewer runs in each of the victories during his winning streak.

'You've just got to let it go, keep working hard and get better,' Kazmir said.

Orlando Cabrera doubled in the sixth to set an Angels record by reaching base in 37 consecutive games. He added an RBI single in the seventh and another single in the eighth to finish 3-for-5.

Adam Kennedy drove in two runs for Los Angeles with singles off Kazmir in the second and Harper in the eighth.

The Angels added three runs in the ninth on Chone Figgins' two-run homer and an RBI single by Molina.
